The Marriott Miri

The first night in Miri I bunked in with my friend. After that I moved over to the Marriott Miri. I never had a good impression of Marriott because the one locally is nothing much to rave about, and the Renaissance hotel I stayed in Orlando, also under the Marriott management, is also nothing impressive.

So when I saw the Marriott hotel in Miri, I was pleasantly surprised, because it looks more like a luxurious resort than anything else. In fact, the structure and decoration reminds me of the Banyan Tree villas in Phuket and Bintan. So one can just imagine just how cosy and awe-inspiring the hotel is! Best of all, it opens up onto the beach, and the view there is just spectacular!

As you can see, the Miri Marriott Resort and Spa is beautiful indeed! I used the spa too, although I went to the spa only after I checked out of Marriott, but since the spa is open to the public and I had nothing much to do that day, I decided to take a walk along the beach to use the spa, which I will mention in a later post.

All I can say is, for any of you intending to go to Miri and like a bit of luxury, Marriott is the place to stay! The rooms are comfortable, the service staff is courteous, the lobby is beautiful, and most important of all, they do provide free shuttles to and from the airport and to all major shopping destinations in Miri! Where else can you get this kind of "bargain"?
