I was telling a friend some time ago to get out and meet people, instead of just staying at home, because guys will not just drop from the sky and land on her roof. But then again, at times I do wonder, I do so much for myself like meeting people in a variety of ways, what have I actually achieved? Afterall, if things have been successful, I will not be in this state in the first place.
Maybe that is why some of my friends gave up, because it seems that they can hardly meet anyone no matter what they do. I have tried singing groups, church groups, dancing lessons, online websites, dating agencies, friends of friends, social events, but all come to nought. I have met people though, and some good friends (of both genders) have emerged out of these activities, but that seems to be about it. No sparks and progress whatsoever.
Still, I am all for meeting people. It widens up your perspectives in life talking to various people. It gets you exposed to other aspects of life, like how come some people can be so shallow and idiotic. It helps improve your knowledge by bantering with those better. And perhaps one day, someone may just introduce you to someone who may just be the one, who knows?
Which is why when I received an email for The Bedazzled event, I signed up immediately. I will be going for both the Conference and the gala dinner. If anything, it is just to improve and see things from another perspective, and hopefully meet more interesting people. All for the fun of it. Hopefully the events will be as fun as I hope they will be!
