World Habitat Day 2010

World Habitat Day is on the first Monday of October. This year's World Habitat theme is on "Better City, Better Life". Each year, there are millions of people from slums who moved to developing cities for want of a better life. These, coupled with those who were born in those developing cities of the world, there will soon be insufficient housing and will result in overcrowding.

Hence, this year's World Habitat Day is to raise awareness of these people who live in developing cities but may not have decent housing. We can do our part too, by advocating, educating and fundraising. Hopefully by doing this, many of us will realise how priviledged we are that we are born and live in cities that are already developed, with excellent infrastructure and ease of convenience to go everywhere.

To find out more, please go to the World Habitat website to take a look. Hopefully more people will help out and raise awareness!
