The Prayer Meet on Wednesday was rather thought-provoking. The facilitator started off by asking who are we most like in our family? To me, I think I am most like my mum. At least for sure I bear a physical resemblance to her, according to everyone who has seen us.
The message is on how Christ made us according to His image. Then we started talking about how crosses are being carried, and how in order to build up character, we do take on a lot of crosses too.
The trouble is, the kind of crosses we bear, one may question why we end up facing certain things in our lives. So do we take the easy way out and try to avoid? Or do we plunge headlong and face whatever difficulties along the way?
I guess everyone has problems of their own. Some major, some minor. And I believe all of us have cursed and swore at problems that occurred to us, wondering why were we the ones who had to be saddled with things like that.
Some of us took the easy way out by disclaiming all responsibility. Some of us were willing to endure all the problems. But life is never that easy. Maybe if we take the easy way out now and live life relatively carefree, perhaps more problems would come later? Or if we bear the brunt of whatever problems we had, things could be easier and more relieved later on?
This cartoon I received sums it up completely. If we choose to take the easy way out now, we may not be able to cross the hurdles that come our way. If we choose to bear the cross and sufferings, we could then use those to cross whatever hurdles we may come across! Pretty inspiring indeed!
