So the Oscars are over, and I am really not pleased with the results! How can Argo win the Best Picture? There are so many better quality shows! Considering all the nominations, I would say Lincoln is the best, although Les Miserables is a close second. Even those shows that are not nominated, Hitchcock and Cloud Atlas are pretty good too!
So how did Argo even manage to win? Just because the state supports it? But a movie is a movie, and for an award of this scale, it should be on quality, is it not? I am not saying Argo is a bad movie, it is of pretty good quality too, but how is it better than Lincoln, or even Silver Linings Playbook?
As for the rest of the winners, I am pretty pleased that Anne Hathaway finally got her deserving Oscar. I am disappointed Hugh Jackman did not win though, but then since he lost out to Daniel Day-Lewis who is a living and breathing Abraham Lincoln, I have no complaints about that.
I hope next year's nominees and winners will be really based on quality and not politics. Hopefully the movies next year will be good too, as there have been a few times where the movies are quite disappointing and no real good Best Picture movie was shown. This year seems to be a good year for movies, and hopefully next year will be better!
