NDP 08

080808. Triple Eight. That would have been a special day indeed. And it was! The Beijing Olympics started with a big bang, and lots of pomp and fanfare. In comparison, the celebration for National Day (Happy 43rd Birthday anyway!) paled in comparison. But I believe the contingents and all participants have already tried their best to put up a good show. Their determination, endurance and discipline is admirable indeed, imagine since the organisers started planning immediately after the last National Day, and the contingent and participants started practicing from April onwards, burning their weekends and some weekdays.

It started pouring before the actual parade started. I was worried on how the parade could go on, considering the last time it rained on National Day was like forty years ago. So far, the skies have been pretty good until yesterday. Luckily by the time the parade started, the rain had become a drizzle and by the time everyone started marching in, most of the rain had let up. Looks like the heavens are still pretty kind to us!
