Computer Doctor!

I spent the past few days repairing my laptop. It had been rather cranky for the past year, but it was the past couple of weeks that real problems occurred. Firstly, I was not able to download anything anymore! I could download the file, but not able to access it and the download link could not work. That bodes bad news as I need to download all my online study materials!

Secondly, plugins could not work, and despite the times I tried to download, it was to no avail, considering since the downloads could not work at all. Thirdly, the laptop had been "hanging" more often than before, especially in the middle of doing my assignments.

So I called the repair shop, and was told it would cost me a hefty amount flat rate. In the end, I tried to self-service. I backed up all my important documents into the D drive. However, with the risk of all the data being wiped out since I had to reformat the whole thing, I saved everything into a DVD instead.

I popped in the recovery disk, and now, everything is running properly! I need to reinstall my software programs though, but that was not a problem as almost everything could be installed online. What is most important is that my downloads are finally working!

Unfortunately, I have no idea where I put my original Office 2007 disc, so in the end, I had to resort to using the online Open Office instead. What is worse is that for some reason, the DVD which I stored my documents in, somehow could not work! Which means all my school materials, songs, documents, and photos are gone! Boo hoo!

Luckily I still have the online albums and my course materials are available online and in hardcopies, but still, it is pretty heartbreaking as whatever that was found online are but limited. With my entire collection gone, I have to spend more time saving everything up again! :-(

The irony is that the D drive is still there, and if I had saved everything into the D drive instead, perhaps I could still retain all my stuff! Aaaarrrrrgh!!!!
