Blog Spam

First there was email spam. Next came mobile spam. Now the latest - blog spam! This is pretty worrying actually, considering email spam causes a virus attack on the computer, mobile spam causes a mobile virus which automatically shuts down the phone, and now with blog spam, wonder what damage would there be?

At least for email and the mobile, it is within our control as we can delete all the unwanted messages. However, with a blog, it is almost impossible, as the spam messages are in the comments posted, and only the author of the comment could delete the message away. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I do not run into problems like these. Some of my friends' blogs and some blogs I read regularly already have the attack of the spammer! Hope this will not trigger any hackers or viruses.

I don't see how it could (trigger viruses, etc.). When you post a comment all you are doing is posting a bit of text and HTML code which in effect 'does' nothing whatsoever.

I was just browsing blogs, by clicking on next blog and saw your complaint.
I've had the same problem.
Blogger claims to have a solution and it seems simple. So far it's worked for me.

Anonymous 1 and 2 : Thanks.

Infolands : It is just a precaution, in case something really happens.

Broddi : Thanks for the tip!

I got some of these spammers too. They give you compliments so you won't want to delete their comments. Very sneaky and rude.

kitasumba : Thanks for the info.

Ole Wolvie : Yes, I know. Just replying for reply's sake.

Blithering Moron : You too? Poor thing! Spammers are forever finding ways to beat technology.
